Vera Wang Suzanne (1999)

Vera Wang Suzanne is from Vera Wang's Spring 1999 collection (runway images shown in final slides).
 
It's difficult to imagine a more classic gown than this! Suzanne is constructed from a heavy silk duchesse satin of the exquisite quality that you would expect from a '90s Vera Wang wedding dress. It features a drop waist, soft scoop neckline, and A-line silhouette. The skirt has heavy layers of crinoline to give it a very defined shape. 
 
Suzanne has elbow-length sleeves that are made from a lovely Alencon lace. The same Alencon lace adorns the end of the train, which gives your guests a sweet surprise when you walk down the aisle. (If you prefer to do without the lace sleeves or the lace peekabo, they are simple to remove and store.)

Suzanne is unaltered and unworn. And unlike most Atlanta residents, it has lived here for its entire life - we obtained it from the original owner, who bought her at a local bridal shop in 2000. The gown has been carefully stored since then.

Condition
 
Suzanne is in lovely condition. We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage wedding dresses, but because they are vintage garments, they will invariably contain some indications of age. These are unavoidable. We do our best to ensure that we have thoroughly examined every dress in multiple lighting conditions so that we can identify any flaws.
 
Alterations
 
As a general rule, a gown can be altered down approximately two sizes, but can rarely be made larger by more than 1/2” or so. We cannot make determinations about what your seamstress will be willing to undertake. Please consult your own seamstress before purchasing a gown if you are uncertain about whether it will work for you.
