Please note that we have more appointment policies than typical bridal shops because we are not a typical bridal shop! Unlike sample gowns at standard bridal stores, our vintage wedding dresses are irreplaceable.  Our policies exist simply to protect our dresses and make sure they're in the best possible condition when they're worn down the aisle.

FAQs

Appointments and other important information

1. What is your price range?

Our prices reflect the rarity and quality of our dresses, as well as the complex curation and preparation process.

·       Full-length wedding dresses begin at approximately $3,500

·       Vintage Vera Wang wedding dresses (all lengths) begin at $4,000

·       Vintage Vera Wang duchesse silk-satin ball gowns begin at approximately $7,000

·       Party & event dresses range from approximately $1,000 to $6,000

Notes on pricing:

·       Sourcing couture vintage wedding dresses is a continuous, labor-intensive process that occurs every day. It is nothing like the traditional bridal shop model, where a boutique carries a limited range of designers, and the boutique simply chooses samples from the dresses that those designers create each season. Every dress in our collection must be individually sourced, selected, purchased, and prepared for sale. We love this process, but it takes time and knowledge.

·       Specialized skills and training are often required to prepare our dresses for sale. For instance, repairs to couture finishing techniques should only be performed by someone skilled in applying those techniques. Preparing a couture vintage dress for sale is not usually a matter of adding a price tag, like it is with a sample in a regular bridal shop. It can take weeks or months. â€‹

2. Do you charge an appointment fee?

We charge $110 for an appointment to try on wedding dresses, and $50 for an appointment to try on eveningwear and bridal event dresses (like minis, midis, etc.). The fees are credited against the cost of your dress if you decide to purchase. We do not charge for repeat appointments.

3. What sizes do you carry?

Women have always faced enormous pressure to maintain a certain body size, and that was especially true 20+ years ago, during the periods our dresses come from. Most couture vintage wedding dresses are a modern size 8-10 or below (which is the equivalent of a bridal size 12-14).

These sizes correspond to roughly the following body measurements:

BUST - 30" to 40"

WAIST - 24" to 32"

HIP - 35" to 43" (but there is significant flexibility with hip measurements because many of our dresses have full skirts, so they can accommodate a wide range of hip measurements)

We are very committed to creating a collection that is as inclusive as possible, and we are constantly seeking vintage wedding dresses in sizes 10 and above. We offer higher consignment rates for dresses in sizes 10+, and we typically pay much more to acquire them because of their scarcity. We have many mid-size dresses in our collection (and some of the only plus-size vintage Vera Wang wedding dresses to ever hit the market), and we are proud of that, but the truth is that the options available in those sizes are more limited than those in straight sizes.

4. Do you offer champagne?

We love champagne as much as anyone, and we know that most bridal shops serve it, but we don't offer it or permit it to be consumed in the shop. Since we can't order another sample from the designer if a dress gets damaged from food or drink, we have to be as cautious with our dresses as possible.

5. Do you allow photos?

Yes, we allow and encourage you to take pictures and video!
