General background & information

Evie is an absolutely exquisite bridal mini dress from Carolina Herrera's 2011 collection.

It has a 1950s vibe with its fitted, dropped-waist bodice, boat neckline, and full skirt. The skirt gets its fullness from the box pleats and extremely high quality of the silk faille fabric used in its construction. (We do not recommend wearing a crinoline to increase the fullness in the skirt of this particular dress.) Princess seams that extend to the skirt seam provide superior fit through the bodice.

Evie is in wonderful condition.

This dress is one of our founder's favorites because it has a very classic shape that translates well over the decades, and the quality of the fabric and construction is unparalleled.

Sizing & measurements

Measurements must be used to determine whether a particular gown will work for you. The flat measurements of Evie are as follows:

Bust - 34"

Waist - 28"

Hip - flexible

Please note that the bust measurement will be especially important with this gown, as the bodice is very structured, and it covers the full torso. With strapless gowns, there is sometimes some wiggle room with the bust measurement, but that is not the case with this dress. If your measurement exceeds the stated flat measurement, there may be workarounds during alterations, but you would need to consult your chosen seamstress.

Condition notes

We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage wedding dresses, but because they are vintage garments, they will invariable contain some indications of age. These are unavoidable.

Evie is in excellent condition overall. While there may be a small mark here or there that we may have missed, she appears in close to new condition.

Designer background

Carolina Herrera has a long history in American bridal fashion, and is one of the only domestic designers who can claim that she has dressed more than one generation of brides. When it comes to wedding dresses, her name is practically synonymous with "classic."

Carolina Herrera had a close relationship with Jackie Kennedy, so in the mid-1980s, she was tapped to create Caroline Kennedy's iconic shamrock-adorned gown...and the rest is (bridal fashion) history. Herrera was in high demand after Caroline Kennedy's wedding, and she formally launched her bridal line shortly thereafter. She dressed countless women for their weddings until she retired her bridal line in 2024, including numerous celebrities.
