General background & information
A dress that needs no introduction! We typically receive hundreds of inquiries every time we have one of these gorgeous, classic Catherine Rayner styles -- because it is simply the perfect wedding dress. Lottie is made of crisp, lightweight, textured silk dupion. It is accented with silk charmeuse rosettes at the top of the off-shoulder bodice. The bodice is extremely structured, which shows off the figure while keeping you comfortable. Lottie's bodice is elongated and has a Basque waistline. The bodice is finished with a line of domed covered buttons down the back.
The skirt has the classic Catherine Rayner silhouette. It is a single piece with a column skirt and an attached train. The train is created by extensively gathering the fabric at the back waist, which provides the added benefit of enhancing the curve of the wearer's waist. (This is the silhouette so beloved by women in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and it is clearly what Rayner was influenced by when she created this shape.) These skirt styles give you all the drama of a ball gown skirt, but they show off the figure and are easy to wear. Plus, they bustle beautifully.
Size
A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications. The approximate exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:

Waist - 27"
It is approximately a modern size 4.
Condition
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades. We make every effort to review each dress thoroughly and disclose the issues we can find. With that in mind, please review the following notes:
Lottie is in very good to excellent vintage condition. It has a few small, light marks visible on close inspection, but these are minor and do not detract from the appearance of the dress overall.
