General information & background
 
Gianfranco Ferre's bridal line for Christian Dior lasted from approximately 1989 to 1997. The wedding dresses in this line evoked classic Dior designs from the 1950s like the iconic Venezuela gown. The Dior bridal line was characterized by opulent and unusual fabrics, classic silhouettes and necklines, and perfect finishing touches.
 
Christian Dior Aurora lives up to the promise of the Dior bridal line. It is constructed from drapey, luxurious silk satin. The dropped-waist bodice has a crossover neckline with generous draping, a high back, and sleeves that come to the tip of the shoulder. The bodice is finished with a line of covered buttons from neck to waist.
 
Aurora's skirt is extremely long and dramatic, with generous gathering at the front and pleating at the back waist. A soft asymmetrical sash crosses over in the back, lending even more drama to an already dramatic dress.
 
Like most of our vintage Dior wedding dresses, Aurora is as classic as it gets.
