General background & information
 
This 1980s Christian Dior bridal mini dress was one of my favorite finds ever because it is new with tags, and even includes its original lace swatch.
 
The bodice was constructed from beige silk chiffon overlaid with ivory French lace. The lace was hand-embellished with small seed pearls. Evangeline has a wide high neckline, a high back, long sleeves, and a dropped waist. The sleeves are accented with a wide silk organza cuff that can be worn either extended over the hand or folded back. The sleeves close with a beautiful little button adorned with pearls. The buttons put me in mind of the Chanel maxim that every button should be like a little jewel in a jewel box. 
 
The skirt is made from a snug base layer that is overlaid with voluminous tiers of silk organza. The bottom edge of the skirt has a wide band with a lace peekaboo edging.
 
Evangeline is very fun and very '80s!
 
Size & measurements
 
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. Note that Evangeline has a small hip/thigh measurement relative to the size. Evangeline's flat measurements are as follows:
 
Bust - 36"
Waist - 28"
Hip - 36"
 
The bodice is roughly a modern size 6-8, but the skirt is more like a size 2-4.
