General information & background

Wednesday is unquestionably one of the most *extra* pieces we've ever had in the shop. Created by Italian designer Elvira Gramano, everything about it screams 1970s: the mock neck, the crochet lace detailing on the bodice, the miles of jersey fabric...and of course the incredible attached cape. It is a spectacular piece that we think would be perfect for an elopement or wedding in a dramatic location where its beauty and drama can be on full display.

Size & measurements

Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. The exterior flat measurements of this vintage wedding dress are as follows:

Bust - 34"

Waist - 27"- 27.5"

This gown is approximately a modern size 4.

A note on the fit -- While there is stretch to the fabric itself because it is jersey, do not assume the dress conforms to the body as with most modern jersey dresses. The waist seam is not stretchy, so there is not much wiggle room in the waist measurement; and the bust panels of cotton lace and rear zipper mean that there is also very little stretch in the bust measurement.

Condition notes

We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades. We make every effort to review each dress thoroughly and disclose every issue we can find. With that in mind, please review the following notes:

Wednesday is in excellent vintage condition, with minor wear commensurate with its age. One tiny hole has been repaired, and while it is not visible, we mention it in the interest of full disclosure.
