For the Fall 2015 collection, Ralph Lauren decided to showcase his softer side. He eschewed the beaded, sparkly, Gatsby-esque showstoppers that had been the stars of past collections in favor of an explosion textures like patchwork fur (shearling), suede, and ultra-long fringe. Beaded looks were kept to a minimum, with this pretty dress being one of the few exceptions. 
 
Look 25 has an ecru silk base underdress and a heavily beaded overdress. Even with this beaded look, Lauren stuck with the overall vibe of the collection, and opted to increase the visual texture by adding unusual materials like seashells and elongated horn beads alongside traditional glass beads. The beading is heaviest at the neckline of the gown, and gradually becomes lighter (although it never completely disappears) as it reaches the hem. The dress falls to roughly below the knee.
 
Although the dress was part of an autumn collection and was styled on the runway with a fur hat and cabled cardigan, we think it is much better suited to a bridal event in a coastal or tropical location!

It is tagged a size 8, but is approximately a modern size 6. Note that we do not recommend making more than minor alterations to this dress.
 
Condition
 
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades. We make every effort to review each dress thoroughly and disclose the issues we can find. With that in mind, please review the following notes:
 
This dress is in excellent condition. Of course, it is possible that the dress has some missing beading, but there is nothing missing that is noticeable on our inspection.
