General background & information
 
Jean Candillon Violet is a very romantic, dramatic two-piece ball gown sourced from France. The corset top is constructed from dense soutache corded Alencon lace. It has a portrait neckline, sweet scalloped hemline, and sheer lace 3/4-length sleeves. (The sleeves can be removed if you prefer not to have sleeves, which would leave an off-shoulder strap of about 1" in width.) It has a functional lace-up back for a superb fit. 
 
The skirt is constructed from silk taffeta. It has a clean A-line front, with only subtle gathering for volume; but the back has a dozen (or so) pickups that give a very full, romantic look. Violet is a statement gown for someone seeking a dramatic bridal look. 
 
Size & measurements
 
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. Violet has some flexibility in sizing because the corset has a functional lace-up back, and the skirt closes with metal hooks that can be moved to create more or less room in the waist, depending on the wearer. The range of measurements is as follows: 
 
Bust - 34-36"
Waist - 26-28"
Hip - flexible
 
Violet can fit a person who wears a modern size 4-8.
