Dore is a showstopper. This 1920s-inspired vintage Jenny Packham maxi dress is constructed from a fine weight silk charmeuse that looks like liquid gold and moves beautifully. The waist panel is heavily embroidered with opaque ivory crystals, French sequins, clear glass beads, and metallic thread. The waistline embroidery was applied on a sheer base, so while bare skin is visible through the gown, it's subtle. The embroidery continues below the waistline and up the bust line, and it culminates in denser embroidery at the tip of the shoulders.
Dore has a mirrored V-neck in the front and back. It falls to approximately maxi length, depending on your height.
Size & measurements
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications. The approximate exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:
Bust - 35-36"
Waist - 28"
Hip - flexible
It is approximately a modern size 6-8, but also suits a size 2-4. There is a small amount of flexibility in these measurements because it is a bias-cut gown.
Note that if your bust is on the fuller side, we would recommend adding a soft bra cup during alterations to provide additional support.
Condition notes
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades. We make every effort to review each dress thoroughly and disclose the issues we can find. With that in mind, please review the following notes:
Dore is in very good vintage condition with beading/sequin loss visible on close inspection and some pulls, as is normal and expected with a beaded vintage dress. It is ready to be worn.
