General information & background
 
This ultra-romantic gown is one of the superstars of our collection. Catarina is a masterpiece by Belgian couture designer Kaat Tilley.
 
Tilley brought everything in her repertoire to this one-of-a-kind A-line wedding dress. Catarina is constructed from handwoven silk dupion, silk habotai, and silk velvet. (The silk dupion that Tilley used to make this dress is probably the most beautiful fabric in our whole collection.) Catarina features covered buttons with hand-sewn rouleau loops, a contrasting off-shoulder neckline made of soft velvet, a lace-up back, and pickups in the skirt.
 
Snow White was Kaat Tilley’s lifelong muse and inspiration, and that inspiration is obvious in this dress. It’s hard to imagine walking down the aisle in anything more romantic than this. Catarina is one of our favorites, and it is a quintessential example of what makes couture vintage wedding dresses so special.
 
Sizing & measurements
 
This dress fits a range of sizes because of its full lace-up back. It is tagged a French size 38, but accommodates sizes 6-10.

Condition
 
Catarina is in wonderful condition. 
 
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage wedding dresses, but because they are vintage garments, they will invariably contain some indications of age. These are unavoidable. We do our best to ensure that we have thoroughly examined every dress in multiple lighting conditions so that we can identify any flaws. 
 
Alterations
 
As a general rule, a gown can be altered down approximately two sizes, but can rarely be made larger by more than 1/2” or so. We cannot make determinations about what your seamstress will be willing to undertake. Please consult your own seamstress before purchasing a gown if you are uncertain about whether it will work for you.
