General background & information
 
From British couture designer Neil Cunningham comes this regal, striking vintage wedding dress. Maria - so named because of the gown's unmistakable similarity to Maria's wedding dress in The Sound of Music - is made of extremely high quality, dense peau de soie. The clean lines and minimalistic details of the gown allow the fabric quality and construction to take center stage. Maria has an empire waist (which can be fitted to the natural waist, as shown here), long sleeves, and high collar. The sleeves, high back, and full skirt are offset by a plunging neckline. The sleeves are accented with custom covered buttons. There is no zipper to distract from the simple vintage elegance of this gown; the back closes with a long line of the same large covered buttons. 
 
Maria makes a big impact on everyone who sees it. It is a very special, timeless gown.
