General background & information
 
This elegant, pared-back wedding dress from Italian couture bridal designer Peter Langner puts us in mind of classic '50s & '60s formal attire from Hubert de Givenchy, Cristobal Balenciaga, Christian Dior, and their contemporaries. It has a classic column silhouette and is constructed from dense silk faille. The focal point of the gown is the silk-satin sash at the top of the bodice. On the front, the fabric is folded over and lightly hand-beaded with glass beads. The fabric extends into long ribbons at the back, where it is used to create a luminous statement bow. 
 
This is a bridal look that truly stands the test of time. It would make a gorgeous vintage wedding dress, of course, but it would also be lovely for a rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, or other bridal event.
