General background & information
 
This stunning two-piece vintage wedding ensemble was sourced from Italy, and it is an ethereal, romantic dream of a dress! Made of the finest-quality Italian silk and lace fabrics, Rose de Soleil features a structured strapless bodice with a softened sweetheart neckline. An overlay of delicate beaded Italian lace covers the entire bodice and trims the lower edge. Even though the beading is fairly detailed, it doesn't read as a beaded top, as the beads are very small and transparent. It simply provides subtle visual texture.
 
The skirt is made of layers of extremely soft, fine Italian silk tulle, silk voile, silk chiffon, and superfine tulle. The top layer of the skirt is delicately pleated to emphasize the shape of the skirt. Small beaded lace appliques are tucked inside of the pleats, which is a sweet touch that is really only obvious to the person wearing it. 
 
The silhouette is difficult to define, but it looks great on everyone. It's not quite a dropped waist A-line dress, but not quite a fit-and-flare gown, either; it falls somewhere in the middle, giving you the drama of a big skirt and the figure definition of a fit-and-flare. The skirt is finished with a chapel-length train.
 
Rose de Soleil's origin is a mystery. It has no designer label, and although it came with an attached store tag, the tag provides no useful information. (Oddly enough, it looks like a piece of wood.) It's a mysterious, very special, one-of-a-kind piece. We love this one!
 
Size & measurements
 
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications. The exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:
 
Bust - 39"
Waist - 30-31"
Hip - 38"+
 
It is approximately a modern size 10-12.
