General information & background

Juliet is a three-piece 1990s wedding ensemble by a British couture bridal designer. It is constructed from dense silk crepe, silk chiffon, and silk charmeuse. The corset gives the most "snatched" appearance of anything else we have in the shop. This is because of the designer's use of narrow, expertly-cut panels to help shape the waistline, as well as the use of a functional corset back panel.

The bodice has an elegant off-the-shoulder neckline that is sexy without being revealing.

Juliet's skirt is made of body-skimming silk crepe and is fully lined in silk. This dress also features a detachable silk chiffon train. The train attaches to the skirt underneath of the corset using a series of hooks. It's a nice way to increase the movement and drama of the gown during the wedding ceremony, but is easily removed later.

This is a wonderful example of a wedding dress whose focus is on the quality of the materials and the expert cut and fit. It is a strikingly simple vintage wedding dress that lets the bride take center stage, not the other way around.

Size & measurements

Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2" to 1” larger without making major modifications. The exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:

Bust - 35"

Waist - 30"

Hip - 38"

Note that because this corset is fully functional and laces up the back, there is some wiggle room in the measurements for the corset itself.

This gown is a size 8 on our size chart.

Condition notes

Juliet is in very good vintage condition. It has not been worn by a bride. It has general wear from being tried on (ie, dust on the end of the train and slight residue to the bodice), but is ready to wear.
