General background & information
 
A vintage wedding dress for the cape/hood lovers! Lorelai is a two-piece bridal ensemble sourced from the UK. The underdress is a strapless, ankle-length column gown. The main body of the dress is constructed from duchess silk satin, and the overlayer is an ethereal single layer of silk chiffon that floats beyond the hem. The bodice has a guipure lace overlay on the bust and guipure lace detailing on the back waist.
 
The hooded cape is a dramatic statement piece. Made of the same silk chiffon as the overlay on the dress, the cape is heavily gathered at the neckline to provide additional volume (and drama). Guipure lace was also used to embellish the neckline. The cape extends far beyond the dress itself, so it serves as the train -- and makes an easy transition from ceremony to reception.

Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. The flat measurements of this vintage wedding dress are as follows:

This gown is petite; it is approximately a modern size 2.
 
Condition notes
 
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades. We make every effort to review each dress thoroughly and disclose every issue we can find. With that in mind, please review the following notes:
 
Lorelai is in very good vintage condition, with only minor wear commensurate with age. This includes some pulled/loose threads in the embroidered lace portions, which is impossible to avoid with a lace like this. One very small repair was previously made to the hem of the cape, and while it is not noticeable, we note it in the interest of full disclosure. Lorelai is ready to wear.
