Description & background
Megan is a quintessentially Carolina Herrera wedding dress and is a staff favorite! It is constructed from a cotton-silk blend fabric that has a subtle, pebbly micro-texture. The texture does not convey well in photos, but instead provides a velvety, soft visual texture. The strapless bodice has a squared neckline, princess seams, and a dropped waistline. It is finished with five covered buttons along the top of the bodice. The skirt is full and dramatic, with generous pleats providing volume.
The dress is accented with strips of pink silk-satin: two strips across the top of the bodice, and another tucked between pleats at the top of the skirt. These are the type of details that made Carolina Herrera a favorite among brides for so many years: the details feel fresh and feminine, but the overall impression is still that of a very classic wedding dress.
One feature that has been common to Carolina Herrera bridal gowns over the years is a deep pleat at the side waist. Megan employs this technique, but takes it a step further by adding a pink bias-cut ribbon detail. The ribbon is knotted at the top and extends into long, twirly ends. (It is not a bow.)
We love this beautiful Carolina gown!
