General background & information
 
Susanna is a romantic A-line wedding dress sourced from the UK. It is a very classic gown, with a few thoughtful details that make it special. Susanna is made of high-quality duchess silk satin in a chameleon-like shade that looks ivory, cool-toned dark ivory, champagne, or even seashell pink, depending on the light. The bodice has a softened sweetheart neckline that is accented by beaded Alencon lace trim. The trim does not stand out very much against the dress, so it provides visual texture and interest without being distracting. The bodice has a dropped Basque waist. It is finished with a line of covered buttons down the back of the bodice. 
 
The dramatic silk-satin skirt is asymmetrically overlaid with the same beaded lace used in the bodice. The skirt falls naturally from the waist seam without any gathering or pleating, giving a natural and elegant A-line shape, as well as sweeping movement. Handmade silk and lace rosettes adorn the side of the skirt where the lace accent fabric comes together. (If you aren't a rosette person, though, they are of course easily removed.) 
 
Susanna is a gorgeous dress that gives a very "snatched" waist thanks to the expert corsetry inside the bodice. And it is a rare size for a vintage gown too. We are thrilled to have Susanna in our collection!
