General background & information
 
Aubrey is a staff favorite! This vintage Vera Wang is all about the shape (and the bows, of course). The halter neckline and fit-to-flare silhouette create a beautiful flowing line that emphasizes an hourglass figure (or gives the illusion of one, if you have a straighter figure). The scoop neckline is accented by a simple pleated detail. The halter straps are wide and long, and they tie up into a fun and dramatic bow. There is a similar tie at the waist. These large bows give the back of the gown a playful vibe that contrasts with the more formal, serious tone of the front. (Note that the halter strap is not functional, so we have shown it worn in two ways: as a halter strap, which was the original intention, and as a draped off-the-shoulder strap, which gives a more contemporary feel to the dress.)
 
Aubrey features one of Vera's trademark waistlines, the S-waist. This waistline has a shallow bell shape on the wearer's front and back waistline, and rises to the natural waist at the side seams. It's an elongating, sexy waistline that perfectly complements Aubrey's form-fitting silhouette. 
 
The subtle pleating in the bodice is echoed in the train, which has a similar pleated detail along the edge. These kinds of features showcase Vera's design genius and attention to detail. 
 
The rest of the gown is left clean and unadorned, which keeps the focus on the wearer.
