General information & background

Bettie is a simple, classic vintage Vera Wang wedding dress that was worn at a wedding in 1998. Bettie is constructed from light ivory duchess silk satin. It has an off-the-shoulder neckline with short sleeves. The bodice features draping and a center knot at the center bust. The draping at the bust enhances the wearer's waist, and there is no waist seam. The bodice is finished with a line of covered buttons to the waist and a grosgrain bow (which is easily removable if bows aren't your style).

Bettie's skirt is a simple, soft A-line shape that is comfortable, flattering, and easy to wear. It is hard to imagine this dress ever really going out of style.

Bettie's best feature may not even be the dress itself, but instead might be the coordinating veil. This veil was purchased with the gown. It is made of an extremely delicate, 100% silk Chantilly lace, and is topped with Vera's trademark duchess silk satin rosette-centered bow. It is an heirloom piece that should be passed through generations.
