General information & background
 
The one & only Vera Wang Bride Wars dress, as seen on Kate Hudson in the 2009 film. (Note that Bride Wars is also the official name of the gown itself.) 
 
This wedding dress is dramatic -- which was, of course, the intention! The Bride Wars dress has a dropped Basque waist bodice made of delicate corded French lace, a sweetheart neckline with notched detail, and a heavily gathered 10-layer tulle skirt. The gown is finished with a line of hand-embroidered buttons down the back of the bodice. 
 
It is a statement piece for someone who wants to stand out...and someone who has the necessary space, as it is a large dress.  
 
The fact that this gown has been part of Vera's "Iconic" collection since it debuted in 2009 -- and is thus still available to order from a handful of retailers -- is a testament to its timelessness. We love having this quintessential Vera in the shop!
 
Note that we have photographed the gown without its trademark velvet sash. The movie version had a lavender velvet sash. Ours has an ivory sash.
