Jacquelyn is the quintessential vintage Vera, expertly walking the line between chic and sweet. It features a dropped-waist, sleeveless bodice and a high mesh neckline. The keyhole back is topped with the classic vintage Vera statement bow at the back neckline. It is finished with a line of covered buttons that extend to the waist. Generous pleats - and a lot of crinoline - give the skirt the beautiful bell shape that accentuates the waist.
The main fabric is satin-faced silk organza. The accents, including the trim and statement bow, are crafted from duchess silk satin. Satin-faced silk organza is a bouncy, voluminous fabric. It was common for gowns with either tulle or organza skirts to be hemmed the same length all the way around, as this gives the skirt the side-to-side swishiness that makes them so fun to wear. If you still want the drama of a long train, a chapel-length or cathedral-length veil makes a lovely complement to a floor-length gown.
Size & measurements
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications. The approximate exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:

It is tagged a size 6, and is roughly equivalent to a modern size 4-6.
Condition
We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage wedding dresses, but because they are vintage garments, they will invariably contain some indications of age. These are unavoidable.
Jacquelyn is in very good vintage condition. It was previously worn, immediately cleaned and preserved, and opened only recently. Jacquelyn has a small number of shadow stains that remained after dry cleaning. These are very light and only visible in certain lights, and they do not show up in photographs, but we mention them for the sake of full disclosure. There is also a tiny pinprick-size dark spot on the back of the bodice.
