General background & information
 
Vera Wang Kimberly, from the late 1990s, is a dramatic and impactful ball gown. The quality of the materials and embellishments are quintessential vintage Vera Wang, but the style reads a bit more contemporary. 
 
Kimberly was constructed from duchess silk satin in an extremely soft champagne pink shade. The bodice is overlaid with English net that has been lightly embroidered with tonal beads and sequins. The embroidery adds visual texture and interest without being sparkly or "blingy," and we find that even the most dedicated sparkle-haters still like Kimberly's delicate, unobtrusive beading. 
 
The bodice has a strapless peaked neckline and Vera's signature dropped S-waistline. 
 
Kimberly's ball gown skirt has wide box pleats around the entire perimeter of the skirt, which provide ample volume. And the end of the train has a sweet feature: the sides of the train part to reveal an insert that is embellished with the same detail as the bodice. 
 
Kimberly is a statement dress. It would work for a garden wedding or a formal event, depending on your styling choices. 
 
Size & measurements
 
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications.
