    General information & background

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a fully custom vintage Vera Wang. To our knowledge, this is the only full custom vintage Vera Wang that has been owned by someone who is not a public figure and made available for sale to the public. During the time that this dress was created, Vera was designing custom dresses for celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Mariah Carey.

Maggie is constructed from Vera's trademark duchess silk satin. It features a so-called "crumb-catcher" neckline with a center slit in the crumb catcher, a dropped waist, a very voluminous skirt, and generous pleating at the back waist.

    Sizing & measurements

The measurements of Vera Wang Maggie are below. It is tagged a size 4, but measurements should be used for the most accurate sizing.

    Bust -

    Waist -

    Hips - free

Please note that this gown is best suited for someone who is approximately 5'4" or shorter. The distance from the waist to the floor at the front of the gown is approximately ***.

    Included accessories

Maggie is sold with the original Vera Wang veils from 1998. There are two veils: one blusher length, and one cathedral length. These were originally worn with a headpiece to which they were attached, so if you wish to use them, they will need to be added to a comb or combs by a seamstress.

    Condition

Maggie is in very good vintage condition. The gown was preserved according to Vera Wang's instructions immediately after the wedding, and was removed from preservation for the first time by our team in 2024.

We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage wedding dresses, but because they are vintage garments, they will invariable contain some indications of age. These are unavoidable. Maggie has one tiny oxidized mark on the left side of the skirt, and one oxidized mark under a pleat on the back skirt.

We do our best to ensure that we have thoroughly examined every dress in multiple lighting conditions so that we can identify any flaws. However, we are only human, and there is always a possibility that we may have missed something. Minor flaws are not grounds for return.

    Alterations

As a general rule, a gown can be altered down approximately two sizes, but can rarely be made larger by more than 1/2” or so. We cannot make determinations about what your seamstress will be willing to undertake. Please consult your own seamstress before purchasing a gown.
