Robyn is a sweet Y2K Vera Wang wedding dress. It is composed of two layers: a strapless ivory silk underlayer with an integrated corset and a soft sweetheart neckline, and an embroidered tulle overlay with a soft mirrored V-neck and gathered cap sleeve. 
 
The embroidery is what makes this dress special. It was embroidered using a technique called tambour, which is virtually unheard-of in bridal today. (It is still routinely used in the world of haute couture, however.) Metallic thread in a platinum shade establishes an abstract botanical design, which is then accented with ivory beads and sequins. It makes for a subtle look that provides visual texture and dimension without being sparkly  or heavy. This dress has a magnetic presence in the shop. Even the most ardent bead-haters are immediately drawn to the delicate embroidery.
 
Robyn's silhouette is somewhere between a column and a fit-and-flare; it skims the body like a bias-cut fabric would, showing your figure without being snug or revealing. In other words, it is feminine but not too sexy, making it a good choice for those who want or need more a little more coverage in their bridal looks.

Size & measurements
 
Measurements must be used to assess whether a gown will fit you or can be altered to fit you. A gown can usually be made 2-3 sizes smaller without compromising the design, but can rarely be made more than approximately 1/2-1” larger without making major modifications. The exterior measurements of this dress are as follows:
 
Bust - 34"
Waist - 28"
Hip - 38"
 
It is approximately a modern size 4. Note that the gathered edge of the sleeve is a little bit snug; most people will probably want to have their seamstress reduce the gathering and let the sleeve out slightly.

We are known for the excellent condition of our vintage bridal attire. However, vintage gowns will always contain some imperfections that result from being worn and/or stored for decades.
